The fingering and note reading is identical for all saxophones and also very close to the flute. This makes it really easy to switch between soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. Only slight adjustments need to be made to the embouchure. This is another reason why many players start with the alto saxophone and then switch to another saxophone.
